Where have you been?
Uruguay: Punta del Este, Rocha, La Pedrera, La Paloma, Cabo Polonio, Jose Ignacio, Montevideo, Carmelo and Colonia.

Have you been before?

How did you get there?
By Buquebus from Buenos Aires

How long were you there?
8 days/7nights.

General route?
Buenos Aires on to Montevideo, followed by Punta del Este and other areas.

Which was your favourite...
Place: La Pedrera
Hotel: Estancia Vik
Excursion: Horse riding from Estancia El Charabon; it’s very laid back and relaxed.

Appeals to which type of traveller/client?
Searching for an off the beaten track and more relaxed holiday.

Key items to pack/take with you?

If travelling during winter (June – October) bring thermal underwear.

Any good food, drinks, restaurants or bars recommendation?
Parrilla in the Port Market in Montevideo are top choices. In general Parillas are great –lots of meat and chimichuri!

Room for improvement?
Longer seasons – at the end of Feb everyone leaves and it’s really quiet until Easter. Though that could also be a good thing.

How would you summarise/ sum up your trip in a sentence?

It reminds people of home – from every country. Every traveller feels it has something of their own country and feel at home.

Take a peek at our Signature Uruguay: Land of vintage charm.
