Venezuela Caribbean coast and islands
With its coral archipelagos, larger islands, and offshore national marine parks, much of Venezuela's Caribbean coastline is a secret waiting to be discovered.
Along with its coral archipelagos, larger islands, and offshore national marine parks, much of Venezuela's Caribbean coastline is completely undeveloped and in its natural state: pearl white through to burnt gold, soft sand beaches are closely backed by coconut groves and steep lumpy hills swathed in tropical vegetation. It’s a wonderful secret just waiting to be discovered. Of course there are some better known corners: Margarita Island has long been a popular package tour destination – but the majority of the little resorts, rustic ports, rocky, sand-speckled bays and underwater marine theatres are still unexplored by foreign visitors.
Where to go when - our guide to Caribbean coast and islands
The weather in Caribbean coast and islands is wide and varied
Many parts of the Caribbean coast and islands of Venezuela are entirely undeveloped, so you’ll encounter pearly white sands and coral archipelagos in their pristine natural state. Here the climate is consistently dry and temperatures hover around 30°C in the daytime and 22°C at night year round. Humidity is always high, and what rain there is mostly falls between November and January. Carnival in February/March, Easter and the weekends can be busy as many city-dwellers head for the beach, but outside of these times many beaches will be deserted.View our Caribbean coast and islands weather guide
