Peaceful and agreeable lodge in an impressive natural setting, with spacious and comfortable rooms decorated in traditional style. A good base for visiting Angel Falls and Canaima National Park.

A good base for a visit to the park to Angel Falls and the surrounding “lost world” landscapes of Canaima, the agreeable Waku Camp lodge is set in its own well-tended grounds beside a pink sandy lagoon, framed by the cliffs supporting the impressive Hacha Falls beyond

The spacious terracotta-hued guestrooms are in cottages, with private bathroom and a patio with chairs and a hammock. The architecture is typical of the region, with moriche palm-thatched roofs, but the furnishings and fittings, although simple, are well up to mid-range hotel standard and surprisingly comfortable for such a remote place. There is a lounge area and a large thatched restaurant which serves buffet meals.

The lodge is only five minutes from the airstrip but the friendly and accommodating staff arrive to greet you nonetheless, and a boat trip on the lagoon is also included. Optional excursions can be arranged locally, including a flight over the Angel Falls or a full-day trip to the base of the falls by canoe (May-October only).

What our clients say

97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.

The experience at Waku Lodge and in Canaima was fantastic. However we would like to warn next visitors that if you decide to go to the Angel Falls by boat, you will have to pass the night in a camp, with basic facilities and sleeping in hammocks.
