Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica
First class jungle lodge offering romance and elegance in the midst of the wilderness, with an excellent restaurant, its own canopy walkway and even a treehouse for two.
A real mix of romance and elegance in the jungle, the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica is a top-notch lodge – one of a prestigious Peruvian chain of imaginative and innovative upmarket properties.
Of all the lodges in the Peruvian Amazon, this is definitely the most luxurious, and offers the most privacy. There are 30 individual thatched cabins with crisp white linen and shiny polished wood floors, bathed in the mellow light of atmospheric lanterns.
A lofty wooden pavilion houses the excellent restaurant, with a menu brimming with fresh local ingredients, and there is a mezzanine lounge with comfy sofas and panoramic rainforest views. A range of escorted excursions is included so that you can appreciate the bird and butterfly life around the hotel and possibly spot shier mammals and reptiles hiding in the creeks along the river.
Those with a head for heights can enjoy unsurpassed jungle views from a suspended canopy walkway that winds over a quarter of a mile through the treetops. Or, for a truly unique experience, you can stay in the Inkaterra Canopy Tree House, an exclusive, one-of-a-kind hideaway for two, offering a magical 26m-high vantage point from which to take in the sights and sounds of the Amazon. While its facilities are in keeping with the adventurousness of the location, there’s an on-site butler on call who can provide snacks, cool drinks, or even a bottle of chilled champagne as the sun goes down over the rainforest.
