Hotel Sol y Luna
Peaceful and attractive mountain lodge offering both standard and luxury accommodation in individual stone cottages set amidst flowery gardens.
2km from Urubamba in the scenic Sacred Valley of the Incas, the attractively designed Hotel Sol y Luna mountain lodge has both standard and luxury stone cottages set within its flowery gardens. The property is listed in the prestigious Relais & Chateaux portfolio.
All cottages have a private terrace and big open plan bathrooms, and in the premium category you'll also enjoy an outdoor Jacuzzi and a separate living room. Décor is beautiful, with local textiles and individual murals over the bed.
The lovely manicured gardens have excellent views of the surrounding Andean landscape, and there is a small pool in which to cool off. Regular daytime shows display the skill and training of the hotel's stable of paso horses.
There is a cosy restaurant, lounge bar and spa. Sol y Luna organises horse riding and mountain biking, as well as short walks and treks to points of interest in the area. The hotel offers gastronomic tours, workshops and other cultural activities. They also have a wine cellar.
What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
“The Sol y Luna was very good - a nice combination of special character, comfort and tranquility. Our only surprise was that the pool is not heated - I was the only one in and only for a few minutes!”JM, Bolton
"Breathtaking setting. Friendly staff and lovely room and gardens. Great to have two on-site restaurants, plus the spa and pool. Hotel and bar prices a bit steep, but given it's something of a captive audience (not many other places in the area to go to), this is to be expected. Very happy overall."LR, London
a really beautiful hotel. The setting is lovely and the staff are delightful. The restaurant is the best of all the hotels we triedCLA,
Absolutely beautiful setting
"What a beautiful setting. The bungalows were really well designed and constructed, lots of attention to detail. Sitting outside our room watching the hummingbirds dart about was a real highlight of the trip. The restaurant was very good, we especially liked the medley of local desserts. The staff could not have been more helpful - we had a problem with a lost bank card and they phoned the bank for us and helped with translation..."BM, Suffolk
Like staying in heaven
"The Sol y Luna hotel was just superb. We had a rest day there... like staying in a bit of heaven! Beautiful gardens filled with flowers and hummingbirds. Thank you for suggesting that little break in the Sacred Valley. It was just lovely.”KE, Sheffield
Beautiful establishment and lovely place for a rest. However out of town quite a way - for us no problem as we crashed out for the days there. Huge rooms with all required services etc.CM, Bradford-On-Avon
Fantastic hotel with great staff. good meals, wine pairing dinner excellent. wonderful setting, nice extras.MF, London
I really cannot fault this hotel from the perspective of its physical layout and the STUNNING gardens that surround the beautifully crafted casitas. And the main restaurant is beyond anything I can remember enjoying in many years. Let down by a couple of members of staff who were less than helpful and poorly informed as to the management and usability of the hot tub.MP, London
"Beautiful hotel with outstanding food."JG, Torquay
One of my favourite hotels in the world
“Sol y Luna, Urubamba is now one of my favourite hotels in the whole world, it was amazing... I don't know who pulled what strings but we got an upgrade to a Deluxe Casita at the Sol y Luna which was just AMAZING, totally loved the hotel and the villa was simply stunning. Also the best food we had in Peru, really special."TW, Hove
"Beautiful cottages in expansive gardens in quiet environment. The informal restaurant (Ranchero) was excellent."AL
A very special hitel experience and the rooms were divine.AJ, London
"The gardens at Sol y Luna have to be seen to be believed and we were stunned by extent of the salt pans at Maras.”SJ, Cambridge
Well-placed in the Sacred Valley, a beautiful place to stay: for its owners an ecological and artistic project, in a compound with gardens, lodges, restaurants and other amenities. A place to take time and enjoy! Staff 'went the extra mile'.BC, London
"This was the most amazing hotel with fab facilities and beautiful outlook."VT,Manchester
The best hotel we stayed in over our trip. The facilities, the location and the food were exemplary.RS, Northwood
A beautiful hotel and grounds. We felt very spoilt in our deluxe casita very plush, spacious, clean and comfortable. The nights were quite chilly so we appreciated the log fire and the hot water bottles! We ate in both restaurants varied menus and food very good with a marvellous horse show for entertainment at lunch time. Extremely peaceful and relaxed. All staff very courteous and helpful especially the Manager, Emily who organised a special dinner for us consisting of their local dishes usually served at lunch time and Paul who was our very own personal waiter for the evening. Would definitely recommend.VH, Bristol
Gorgeous hotel in a beautiful setting, separate adobe cottage rooms in lovely gardens. Excellent meal in the evening. Very attentive, helpful staff. Only complaint, we would have liked to stay longer!!LL Ross-on-wye
