Trek the Weavers’ Trail (Lares Trek)
Experience the timeless Andean culture on the Weavers' Trail (Lares Trek), an alternative Inca trail in the vicinity of Machu Picchu.
A trek that holds its own against the Inca Trail for scenery, the 4-day Weavers' Trail (also known as the Lares Trek) is the best option for those who want to see life as it is lived in the small, traditional communities of the Cusco area.
Villages and farms line the route, offering a glimpse of a way of life little removed from that of the ancient Incas who once dwelled here. The trek ends at the ruins of Ollantaytambo, where a short train journey takes you on to Machu Picchu.
This is a high altitude trek (up to 4,420m) but fully assisted with a knowledgeable guide to lead the way and a team of porters to carry all equipment and have the camp set up and a hot meal waiting by the time you arrive.
