Hacienda Santa Maria
Hacienda Santa Maria is nestled in chocolate-box-pretty mountain scenery where a relatively benign, sunny climate and fertile soil create perfect conditions for the cultivation of flowers. A palette of yellow, blue and rose-coloured blooms enhances the backdrop to the ranch, a 200 year old property of traditional adobe construction.
The buildings, sheltered by tiled roofs and adorned with wooden balconies, are set around a courtyard with its own family chapel and original French frescos adorn the dining room walls. Guest rooms are simply furnished and compact, with beamed ceilings.
The stone-flagged terraces on the ground floor are dotted with pot plants and geraniums while the garden is groaning with roses and lilies. Home-cooked meals use fruit form the orchards and vegetables from the kitchen gardens. Enjoy your dinner and a drink in front of a log fire.
