The small, intimate and independently run Posada del Puente is a popular choice in Arequipa. It's a great base for exploring the city or simply taking advantage of the sunny climate by relaxing in the riverside gardens with a couple of llamas for company. 

The hotel sits right on the banks of the River Chili, close to a bridge that leads into the centre of town. Its design is a fusion of modern and Mediterranean styles, with whitewashed and rustic pink walls, lofty arches and extensive flowery gardens with pristine lawns sloping down to the river. 

The bright, fairly compact rooms are simply decorated in pastel shades and all have small balconies or terraces. Other facilities include a good restaurant with river views, and a bar.
