Casa Andina Premium Collection Arequipa
Arequipa's best hotel, offering 21st century service while preserving the historical elegance of its prestigious past, when the building housed the Imperial Mint.
The most prestigious hotel in Arequipa strives to offer 21st century service while preserving the historical elegance and colonial atmosphere of its former incarnation as the House of the Imperial Mint. We think it succeeds.
This sophisticated yet friendly and unassuming Casa Andina hotel sits behind the celebrated Santa Catalina Covent, but inside you'd never know you're right in the city centre: rooms and suites are protected from traffic noise and the large patio is an oasis of calm.
The pearl-white stone walls and graceful arches of the original building, dotted with religious art, are backed seamlessly by a modern extension housing large, bright bedrooms with classic décor and contemporary facilities. The smart à la carte restaurant in itself warrants the hotel's first class status.
Casa Andina is a totally Peruvian-owned company managed by a young, enthusiastic team. At its heart is a genuine desire to create inspiring, good value accommodation as a base for exploring the country.

"Good friendly hotel."DB, London
“The Casa Andina in Colca canyon has an observatory attached to it and the guided tour and observation are fascinating - again especially if you have kids (no light pollution you will not believe how good this is). The rainforest - especially if you have kids.”DE, Abbots Langley
"The room was very good. The location excellent. However the restaurant at dinner did not cope well as there was a separate party, resulting in a mediocre meal."AL
Our favourite. The restaurant was good.PS, Reading
“Casa Andina Private Collection in Arequipa was a class above all the others and since it was early on in our trip it made life hard for those following. The staff in every hotel were friendly, welcoming and helpful and the rooms well kept. Well chosen."CP, Kensington
Well placed, in the Old Mint, a fine building very comfortably and tastefully adapted and extended. Breakfast very good; restaurant - decent, but not quite up to expectation in this gastronomic city.BC, London
"This small, slightly quirky hotel provided a pleasant staging post for a visit to Colca Valley and Cañon. The rooms take the form of small chalets, most with thatched roofs, clustered within pleasantly planted and landscaped gardens. The communal areas of the hotel were pleasant and comfortable and there was a small bar, albeit one with limited stocks. The foyer offered a constant supply of mate de coca - said to be a prophylactic against the symptoms of altitude sickness. The hotel restaurant was comfortable and offered a good selection of breakfast items. The dinner and lunch menu was, however, rather limited and unimaginative. It would be adequate for short stays but posed some challenges when more than a couple of meals had to be taken from it."DM, Nottingham
