Hotels - Quirky mix of old and modern, loved the contrast. Seaman Journey Galapagos boat was superb, cabin larger than expected. Crew and guide outstanding.LO, Ascot
There are two moments that I wish I could return to again and again - watching the sun go down over the jagged rock formations of the Valley of the Moon and walking on the salt flats (the beauty of the place nearly brought a tear to my eye).DK, Dover
This was my second group trip to South America with JLA and it was just as fantastic - seeing the main sites such as Machu Picchu but also less well-known or off the tourist radar such as the inside of an Inca house in Ollytaytambo that added an extra insight to the culture and local way of life.
Overall the Nandu tour was a wonderful experience. We have seen some stunning scenery, done some reasonably tough hiking and had some fabulous meals. The JLA staff and their representatives have been first class and the food was excellent. The accommodation was mostly very good too. It is a full-on tour so people going on the tour may want to chill-out somewhere at the end of the tour to relax as we did!VJ, London
I will continue to recommend JLA as one of the best company I have used. The detailed planning of their tour was outstanding, their choice of local guides was excellent.MR, Greenford
"Nigh on impossible to pick out just one memory but the vastness and emptiness of the salt flats, Machu Picchu in the mist, rain and finally sun, being photo bombed by a llama, sunset over the Attacama, causing a desert traffic jam by breaking down."JH, Staines-upon-Thames
All archaeological sites were very good especially when accompanied by informed guides. Landscape superb in the Highlands.
All credit to JLA for going beyond the usual tourist venues in Peru and exploring a lesser known but beautiful area with many compensations for the very basic infrastructure.JF, Cambridge
A really interesting, varied and contrasting tour encapsulating the spirit and culture of the region. Excellent value and made even more enjoyable by a fantastic tour guide.RG, Bishopton
It was a terrific, well-designed tour to some of the most impressive historic sites in the world. The local expert guides were of a particularly high standard and our overall tour guide was excellent even giving each of us a going-home present from her home country Guatemala.DP, Chichester
One of the most memorable moments was walking up to Machu Picchu and revealed itself in front of us!!! The places we went to eat at were advised by the tour leader and local guides with really good local dishes and good quality. We were unlikely to have found them otherwise.MN, Wantage
The whole trip was memorable - it's impossible to pick just one part. The Cuban people I met were friendly and warm - it was good to practice my Spanish, and their love of music and dance, and care for each other is an example for us all.LA, London
The Iguazu Falls were awesome. We enjoyed all the places we visited. I was recommended JLA from someone who had used them before. We were not disappointed. We have had a really good time, seen so much and had the best tour leader. I am certainly going to use them again, and really hope we have Max again. Thank you JLA.CG, Stevenage
"Hats off to the Ecuadoreans for reinstating this railway line! It really is one of the world's great train journeys, and all managed with such style and comfort."AD, Newcastle
This tour packed in an amazing amount in such a large country. You might have liked longer at some sites, but that could have been very exhausting!NH, Grimsby
So many highlights. Corcovado Mountain and the Cristo Redento statue in Rio was a truly spiritual experience. Bolivia as a whole completely exceeded our expectations. Machu Picchu is such an extraordinary sight - its location and setting are hard to comprehend.NH, Shrewsbury
The whole holiday was full of memorable moments. I loved walking around quirky Valparaiso with it's colourful houses and graffiti, the scenery in the Atacama, seeing the Milky Way there at night, the Tatio Geysers at sunrise, seeing Orsono emerge from the clouds in Puerto Varas, Torres del Paine Massif and the changing sky and clouds there. Watching Chilean Gauchos seen close up herding sheep on the road back to Punta Arenas. Realising you are looking at the Magellan Straits with views of Tierra del Fuego in the background when you'd learnt about it in 'O' level geography 50 years ago and were finally there! The wonderful Andean Lakes Crossing from Puerto Varas to Bariloche and the gift of perfect weather during the crossing with cloudless skies and sunshine all the way. The views at Bariloche and walking around Buenos Aires, the Casa Rosada and Eva Peron's burial place and just the street life in general. And also the lovely, hospitable, polite, friendly Chilean locals, always ready to help. Just a brilliant holiday.SLH, Poulton-le-Fylde
Machu Picchu. What a privilege to go to such a stunning place. It was a little too busy in the morning, but walking part of the Inca Trail to the Sun Gate in the afternoon, when it had quietened down was an experience I will never forget. The train from Puno to Cusco was also something very special. In fact, most of the trip was just amazing. Well organised and we saw so much that would probably have been impossible as a solo traveller.RW, Holmfirth
"The drive across the Salt Flats/Desert in Bolivia - generally the Andean scenery was breathtaking and the drives were something we had never experienced before."RS, Swanage
Learned a lot about prehispanic civilizations in Mesoamerica and about the Mexican people. Was very lucky to travel with a small group of curious, witty and interesting people. And it's hard to imagine a better tour guide for this trip.MH, Paris
For me, it was the Atacama desert. It is the driest desert in the world, and we had thunder storms!! But it left snow on the volcanos and fluffy clouds in the brilliant blue sky. Perfect for landscape photography. The great guides, and the friendly fellow travelers.MB, Chelmsford
The Penguin tour was excellent. It covered all the main places I wanted to see, from the Atacama to Patagonia. There are not many companies that cover so much, for group travellers.
I cannot imagine travelling to Latin America with anyone other than JLA. They again proved that they are the best in the business. After our first visit to South America I thought it would be a hard standard to live up to, but this trip proved me wrong.TS, Pontefract
Our first trip to S. America was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Everything was very well organised and we couldn't have had a better group leader than tour leader. The local guides were very knowledgable and enthusiastic to share their country. When we booked this holiday we thought it would be our only trip to S. America, primarily to see Machu Picchu but now hearing the tour leader talk about other tours she has run we are eager to see more of the continent with JLA.FM, Aberdeen
It was a wonderful experience which I wouldnt have missed for the world. The organisation was first class, all the staff in all the hotels friendly and helpful.CL, Newport
Most memorable experience: “I can't really single out any one- I found it all memorable but what was a real pleasure was the friendliness of the local people.”PB, Swansea
All of the Parakeet was fantastic.LS, London
Several stand out moments; sierra maestra; tobacco farm walk; cocoa farm visit; catamaran trip; sancti spiritu walk round; evening meals outside for two weeks; eco farm visit in vinales; visiting the school in santa domingo was interesting as was the brief stop at el cobre between santiago and bayamo.RE, St. Albans
Excellent tour which is a great way to see a lot of different parts of cuba in a short time.
Overall the Tangara trip was well structured, if a little hectic moving on every two nights. It achieved its main objectives and we saw fascinating parts of South America that we had long wanted to see. Our guide, was most assiduous, knew the area very well and eased our path considerably. The highlights for us on Tangara were i) The trip to Chiloe, particularly with the services of an excellent nature guide, ii) the visit to Iguazu, iii) Buenos Aries, and iv) of course Rio de Janeiro.TE, Cirencester
Chile is an amazing country - but much bigger and more diverse than I expected. Penguin gives an excellent dip into the Chilean experience - but leaves you wanting more.JR, London
All of it! Aisen is visually stunning and unforgettable. The whole thing was a great adventure we will never forget and we loved the cities as well.TO, Loughton
Alcion was an excellent trip with a superb tour leader who enabled us to to understand and appreciate each country and place we visited even though packing in six countries. A great way to see and experience Central America.AME, Cardiff
The Eagle tour was one of the best trips I have had. Thank you all!HC, Newcastle-upon-Tyne
