Jicaro Island Ecolodge is a haven of tranquillity on a private island lapped by the calm waters of Lake Nicaragua and surrounded by greenery. There are just nine split-level casitas
or cottages, each with a spacious lounge area and terrace with an enticing hammock from which to take in the lake views.
The lodge's eco credentials are evident in many aspects of its design and day-to-day running, from the solar panels that heat its water to the Rainforest Alliance approved hardwood so prominent in its architecture.
Guests can relax by the stylish infinity pool or adjacent bar. Alternatively, take advantage of the resort’s menu of open-air massage treatments or take a yoga class on a floating platform blissfully looking out over the lake. The open-plan restaurant serves delectable dishes using local ingredients. Morning coffees or afternoon sundowners can also be delivered to your casita.
The private island of Jicaro enjoys a spectacular setting on Lake Nicaragua, just a short boat ride from the cobblestone streets and colourful old houses of Granada. It is one of a group of 300 small tropical islands known collectively as Las Isletas.
