Mision de Fray Diego

Stylishly converted former convent retaining a sense of its history and a quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
This former convent is now a small, secluded and luxurious property close to the centre of Mérida. its décor is in keeping with its history, with religious paintings and artefacts scattered around, yet the cloistered atmosphere is softened with flowers and pastel shades.
It's a hidden haven in a rather dilapidated street. The recently converted hotel is now a top of the range, intimate property – you wouldn’t guess there could be anything this peaceful and exclusive when you start off down the street.
It has rooms and suites with high ceilings, dark wood, wrought iron furnishings, and antique paintings. Suites have French windows leading onto a private terrace and private Jacuzzis. You may choose to eat in the airy restaurant or in the shade of the garden courtyard, or there are numerous eateries serving delectable Yucatecan cuisine nearby. There is also a swimming pool and sun terrace, overlooked by balconies dripping with vines.

excellent location to explore city very difficult to find in complex one way system that you are not used to when driving on wrong side of the road! free toiletries hot shower one day, only luke warm the next day very noisy AC breakfast was limited and mean - i.e. either fruit juice or fruit - why not both, both are cheap enough!!
