Elegant hotel in a prime location near the main square; a magnificent example of Art Nouveau architecture.

The well-located Gran Hotel Ciudad de Mexico, less than a block from the main square in the heart of the historical area, it epitomises the elegance of a bygone era. It was built at the turn of the last century and the vast belle époque lobby is particularly striking with a beautiful stained glass ceiling, grand marble staircase, chandeliers and evocative wrought iron elevators.

The regally appointed guestrooms are set on four floors; suites have four-poster beds and some overlook the Zócalo. There are two restaurants, both popular with locals, as well as a cocktail lounge and roof terrace/bar.

What our clients say

97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.

We loved this hotel because of its amazing character and lovely staff. Very attractive breakfast room and roof terrace with fantastic view of the zocalo. It does have some slightly tired features though!  E.g. the shower taps needed some attention.
