Quinta Las Acacias
Customer Ratings This is a Satisfaction Rating based on our own customer feedback
French-style hillside hotel with a mixture of ornamental European-style rooms and others with traditionally Mexican décor.
This French-style Quinta Las Acacias hotel is situated on a hillside overlooking stunning Guanajuato, 20 minutes' walk from the town centre. Some rooms and public areas are decorated in rather plush fashion, reminiscent of a European country house interior, and others take their cues from Mexican tradition. Shuttered windows look out over the surrounding mountains or the garden.
There is a plunge pool and an open-air Jacuzzi, a terrace ideal for relaxing in the sunshine, and a restaurant serving a mixture of Mexican and European fare.
What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
It is very difficult as pretty well everything was memorable, but if I have to pick something, then the boat trip along the river to Yaxchilan takes some beating. Weather, scenery, wildlife, excitement of a fast boat, and the archaeological surprises at the end ….

Swimming in the cenotes, chichen itza, Mexican food

Highlight?: The totality of it. Seeing different parts of the country. The mixture of food. ruins and art was just about spot on.

JLA definitely know the Latin American market and we have been very satisfied with both the tailor made and small group tour options. Mexico, like other Latin American countries, does not have the same standards of hygiene and accommodation as we are used to in the UK. Travellers should be prepared for and accept this. We felt that JLA had done all they could to ensure that accommodation was of a good standard and that the tour ran smoothly and would have no hesitation in travelling with them again.

Most Memorable Moment?: Hard to say as we enjoyed every part of our trip. We loved the mixture of ancient sites and other attractions so we did not feel overwhelmed by one type of attraction.

Oaxaca and Mexico City were the high spots for us. We found the Mexicans we met to be welcoming and helpful. We ate some amazing foot in Oaxaca where we also loved the botanical gardens. We loved learning about the history, architecture, politics and culture of this fascinating country.

Highlights: Boat trip to Yaxchilan - jungle and ruins were great. Gardens and pool at Hacienda Chichen were lovely. Cuernavaca was a lovely town and we enjoyed Robert Brady museum….San Cristobal - also lovely”

Mexico is such an interesting country, very diverse. I recommend to read a good guide that could give an overview of the history of Mexico and don't miss the Museum of Anttopology if it is intended to visit the arqueological sites. For those interested in the political history of Mexico, it is a must to see 'the muralistas' e.g Diego Rivera, Siquieros, Tamayo and Orosco

Most Memorable Moment?: Lots of highlights but probably street food and archaeology in Mexico City, fiestas in Oaxaca, Hotel Esencia, cenotes and hacienda trip in Merida (and the hotel). We also found a great restaurant in SAN Christobal.

Perfect holiday!
“My sister summed it up by saying that there was nothing that she would have changed, the holiday was perfect. Mexico was a delight, we had never been before, the people sincerely friendly and helpful, the service as great but everything exceeded expectations. My sister and the children thought that the cenotes were amazing as they were such a surprise but we loved it all.”

A trip into the Sian Kaan biosphere with a community based tour company was a beautiful way to celebrate a 14th birthday for one of our girls.</p>

All of the tour guide experiences were memorable and we loved Mexico city. There was so much to see and do in such a short week. I would love to do it again, but over a two week period and over the winter months.

Magical memories were created
"We feel as if we have a million magical memories that will last forever - sunsets over the Caribbean sea, ruins in the midst of the jungles, seas of pink flamingoes, crocodiles nestling on the banks of the Canyon Del Sumida. We were nervous as non Spanish speakers but we felt so supported without that horrible feeling of being over organized. Thank you again.”

Most Memorable Experience: The visits to sights and cities open our eyes to a culture that is underrated in Europe. Security is perceived as a problem in Mexico. Yes there is a noticeable police presence, in comparison with the UK, but we never felt threatened
MC
Highlights 1. Cenotes at Cuzamá - horse drawn cart through countryside to reach them 2. Celestun - flamingoes, lobster and ceviche on the beach 3. Uxmal Ruins- less people than Chichen and no vendors everywhere 4. Tulum Sian Biosphere - walk through Muyil ruins to reach biosphere route to the boat which you hire to cross the lagoon to the the Lazy River floating through the lagoon in natural water currents - stunning...5. Food everywhere we went was amazing; Kind Mexican people esp the Mayans; clean loos (didn't expect it but was often surprised by how clean they were) 6. Hire car gave great flexibility - easy driving and no problems at all.

As a first time traveler to Central America, I can't stress enough how pleasurable Journey Latin America made Mexico for us. We feel as if we have a million magical memories that will last forever - sunsets over the Caribbean sea, ruins in the midst of the jungles, seas of pink flamingos, crocodiles nestling on the banks of the Canyon Del Sumida. We were nervous as non Spanish speakers but we felt so supported without that horrible feeling of being over organized. Thank you again
