Most Memorable Moment?: The awesome encounter with a grey whale mother and calf.

JLA definitely know the Latin American market and we have been very satisfied with both the tailor made and small group tour options. Mexico, like other Latin American countries, does not have the same standards of hygiene and accommodation as we are used to in the UK. Travellers should be prepared for and accept this. We felt that JLA had done all they could to ensure that accommodation was of a good standard and that the tour ran smoothly and would have no hesitation in travelling with them again.

Mexico is such an interesting country, very diverse. I recommend to read a good guide that could give an overview of the history of Mexico and don't miss the Museum of Anttopology if it is intended to visit the arqueological sites. For those interested in the political history of Mexico, it is a must to see 'the muralistas' e.g Diego Rivera, Siquieros, Tamayo and Orosco

Specific memorable event: Having climbed up the large pyramid at the Mayan site, within the Calakmul biospere, not only did we love the impressive view across the tree canopy, but we were greeted by the amazing sound of 3 groups of howler monkeys calling to each other across the tree tops. The birdlife there was also wondeful to see. Overall memorable part: the Mexican people - genuinely friendly, helpful and patient.

Highlights: We went to a small nature reserve (Copalita) near to our hotel in Hualtuco that was really lovely, teaming with wildlife. Monte Alban was very impressive as well.
SP,
Most memorable experiences: "Visiting our parents' house in Lomas de Chapultepec. Francisco persuaded the owners that we were genuine, which was quite an achievement. In sightseeing terms it is difficult to compare, for instance, the domestic and artistic life of Frieda Kahlo with the pyramids of Teotihuacan! We chose to go to all the places on our itinerary and all of them were memorable. Perhaps Monte Alban was the most mind blowing because I had no particular expectations of it, unlike Chichen Itza of which I had seen many pictures."
HG, Sherborne
Highlight of your Trip?: Climbing the Pyramid of the sun, Punting at Xochimilco was wonderful.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the company and we will in future certainly use you again. Everything that was arranged happened to time which for what I had been told about Mexico pleasantly surprised me. All in all a fantastic experience

Unforgetable experiences
“It's impossible to pick any individual aspect; but a number of experiences stood out: the visit to the "voodoo" church at St Juan Chamula (extraordinary and unexpected), the visit to the shrine of the Madonna of Guadalupe on the way to Teotihuacan in Mexico City (similar, and helped understand Mexican history), Palenque (the most beautiful and atmospheric of the pre-hispanic sites), and swimming in the three cenotes at Cuzama near Mérida, which we arranged ourselves.”
AR, Gospel Oak
Most memorable aspects were all the archaeological sites, which we enjoyed immensely. On the whole, we found local people very kind and helpful.

"While is difficult to find the better part, staying in the Hacienda Chichen Resort was magical, seen the Toh bird in Tanka was wonderful, as was swimming in the cenotes there and in Chichen Itza."
LCS, London
We enjoyed every aspect of the trip. The Sumidero Canyon possibly stands out as the most memorable part. Spectacular.
AP, Canterbury
I loved the mexico city walking tour - really felt part of the city. Great restaurant recommendations too! Also loved everything about San cristobel!
MK, London
Highlights?: Probably seeing the Diego Rivera murals in Mexico City although it is hard to pick out as there were so many moments that we loved. A boat trip on the lake of Bacalar was also amazing.

"Many highlights: The views at Uxmal. Waking up with a view of the observatory at Chichen Itza from our hotel bed. The excellent guides. The friendliness of the staff (and impromptu language lessons) at Petit Lafitte."
TR, Farnham
"All of it was great so hard to pick out one thing. We had a lovely mix of ancient sites, modern art, great museums and time to relax. The Day of the Dead celebrations were the main reason for travelling to Mexico in Oct/Nov and, thanks to our guide, they fully met our expectations."
FA, Edinburgh
Highlights?: The serenity at Uxmal and the delightful city of Oaxaca
MF, London
Most memorable experience: The friendliness of the Mexican people
GW Chertsey
Most memorable aspect: “All the visits to temples and pyramids. With very knowledgeable and extremely pleasant guides

All of the tour guide experiences were memorable and we loved Mexico city. There was so much to see and do in such a short week. I would love to do it again, but over a two week period and over the winter months.
JR, Castle Douglas
There were many highlights: the beautiful beach on our first morning in Cancun, the boat ride among the flamingos at Celestun, the sight of the Magicians Pyramid at Uxmal and the climb up the Great Pyramid there ( although not the descent, which was very vertiginous!). We loved the city of Merida, and having a Sunday at leisure there was very well planned by Sophie. We walked the Paseo de Montejo, open only to bikes and pedestrians, visited the Museum of Anthropology, then had a late lunch in Santa Lucia park watching the locals dancing. Later we watched them again in the evening dancing opposite the Cathedral in Plaza Mayor. Great fun, we loved it all. We also has a fantastic visit to Ek Balam on our way to Tulum, which was one on our Mayan Archeological highlights.

Most memorable experiences: "The Archeological sites, the friendly guides and amazing beach in Tulum."
LS, Ruislip
Most memorable experience: Going by fast boat on Usumcinta river to Yaxchilan where howler monkeys and a deserted site made an unforgettable impression. I could go on and on – it was all memorable!
PH Victoria
Highlight?: The totality of it. Seeing different parts of the country. The mixture of food. ruins and art was just about spot on.
KJ, Harlow
Loved it!

Oaxaca and Mexico City were the high spots for us. We found the Mexicans we met to be welcoming and helpful. We ate some amazing foot in Oaxaca where we also loved the botanical gardens. We loved learning about the history, architecture, politics and culture of this fascinating country.
DS, Tunbridge Wells
Perfect holiday!
“My sister summed it up by saying that there was nothing that she would have changed, the holiday was perfect. Mexico was a delight, we had never been before, the people sincerely friendly and helpful, the service as great but everything exceeded expectations. My sister and the children thought that the cenotes were amazing as they were such a surprise but we loved it all.”

Tulum was lovely and the transfer to Isla Mujeres by the hotel is complimentary Catamaran service was fantastic.

Good value, lively all-inclusive resort on a superb stretch of beach - a short cab ride from the action in Playa del Carmen.
