This well-regarded and family-friendly resort hotel is set right behind the impressive white sand beach at Playacar, 45 minutes south of Cancun airport.

There's rarely a dull moment here, with an array of sports and activities on offer such as windsurfing, sailing, tennis, beach volleyball, dance classes, yoga and meditation. The resort has 335 guest rooms with either a garden or ocean aspect. There's an ocean view swimming pool and a choice of 4 restaurants (buffet and a la carte options) offering regional, Mexican and international cuisine, as well as a poolside palapa serving drinks and snacks.

Guests are also free to use the facilities of the sister property Viva Wyndham Maya next door.

Our Expert's comment

Good value, lively all-inclusive resort on a superb stretch of beach - a short cab ride from the action in Playa del Carmen.
