Laid-back, friendly and welcoming little resort on its own private caye. A scuba diver's dream, but equally suited to relaxation.
As its name suggests, Barefoot Cay is a laid-back, informal, very friendly and welcoming little resort. It sits on a private cay fringed with powder-white sand, just off Roatán island. It holds special appeal for scuba divers for whom there is an on-site PADI dive centre, but guests who only want to relax will also feel at home here.
There are just twelve guestrooms, from loft studios to villas and cottages, catering for individuals, couples, families and groups of friends. Barefoot Cay's bungalows, villa, and cottage are all right on the beach, and the loft studios and suites are oceanviews. They are more like little luxury flats than hotel rooms: all have kitchenettes and the cottages and villas have living rooms.
Modern facilities such as TV, Apple TV with Netflix, air-con, Wifi and in-room safe are standard. There's a decent-sized pool, spa, marina, good restaurant and private beach.
What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
Roatan Island and Turpoise Bay were lovely, possibly because it wasn't the height of the season so it was lovely and peaceful and the service was very good. However, Pico Bonito was something very special and we would love to return there and do some of the special trails into the National Park in the future. The whole place was just a beautiful paradise.AC, Tauton
The combo of Highlands and Honduras/Livingston offered the experience of a variety of settings and cultures. I must say that Antigua and Atitlan were stunning!CV, NYC
The Mayan Ruins at Copan, the Macaw Park, spider monkeys in the forest at Pico Bonito, the visit to the Garifuna community on Cayas Cochinos and sailing off Roatan all stand out as great experiences.DT, Liverpool
