Simple accommodation in a lovely location at the mouth of the Rio Dulce, surrounded by tropical greenery and often visited by exotic wildlife.

At the mouth of the Rio Dulce, surrounded by lush vegetation and frequented by myriad species of tropical fauna, the beautifully situated Villa Caribe features simple rooms overlooking either the river or sea. Relax by the pool as colourful birds fly overhead, or listen out for the booming call of howler monkeys.

The rooms are in semi-detached whitewashed bungalows dotted around the premises. The swimming pool is surrounded by palms and lush greenery, and there is a palm-thatched restaurant serving traditional Caribbean specialities and often hosting performances of local Garifuna music and dance.

What our clients say

97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.

"It was a resort for its clientele, who were almost entirely Guatemalan. So it was what it says on the box. Bit basic (don't like putting toilet tissue in a trash can at our age), but otherwise fine."
