Floreana Lava Lodge
Floreana Lava Lodge is a unique hotel with a row of simple cabins on the dark volcanic shoreline, offering a magical sense of immersion in the natural environment.
Floreana Lava Lodge is set on the dark volcanic shoreline a five-minute walk from Floreana's 'main' town (the island has a population of just 150). This collection of simple cabins resembles a row of beach huts. The unique hotel has been designed for visitors looking for a more relaxed and environmentally sensitive style of tourism in a comfortable and friendly setting.
Individual cabins accommodate either twin beds or bunk beds, and are each equipped with the essentials, including air-conditioning, hot water and Wifi. The lodge also has a communal area and snack bar where guests can savour a welcome drink while taking in a Galápagos sunset or enjoying the soothing sound of the ocean. It is of course the spectacular location that provides the wow factor here, along with plenty of wildlife action right on your doorstep – from the turtles that frequent the beach right in front of the cabins to the lively sea lion colony beyond.
What's more, we're delighted to inform you that the team who operates Floreana Lava Lodge were named as the Winner of the Award for Engaging Communities in the prestigious National Geographic World Legacy Awards announced in March 2015.
What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
Out of this world. Very special secluded place. Superb hosts. Real inside view of life on the island, past and present....Highlights: Floreana experience overall and the stories retold by Claudio at his Lava Lodge and up at his farm. We felt personal guests rather than tourists.MP, Hemel Hempstead
"What a great location right on the beach - able to fall asleep listening to the ocean. Loved having my own wooden hut."JB, Edinburgh
"Loved the wooden shack, going to sleep with the sonorous waves breaking on the beach just feet away and waking up to go snorkeling with the sea lions, sea turtles and eagle and sting rays. Claudio and his family were lovely, as was my guide Sylvia. Really felt that I'd been taken in by them."PW, Norwich
This is a very remote place. Power and wifi etc are a bit unreliable. But this is the price you pay for the location and it is well worth it.JT, Tunbridge wells
"What a paradise right on the edge of the sea. To hear the water lapping is so relaxing. Breakfast along with Darwin's finches is another memory. Rooms ideal for the trip."HT, Conwy
