Floreana Lava Lodge is set on the dark volcanic shoreline a five-minute walk from Floreana's 'main' town (the island has a population of just 150). This collection of simple cabins resembles a row of beach huts. The unique hotel has been designed for visitors looking for a more relaxed and environmentally sensitive style of tourism in a comfortable and friendly setting.
Individual cabins accommodate either twin beds or bunk beds, and are each equipped with the essentials, including air-conditioning, hot water and Wifi. The lodge also has a communal area and snack bar where guests can savour a welcome drink while taking in a Galápagos sunset or enjoying the soothing sound of the ocean. It is of course the spectacular location that provides the wow factor here, along with plenty of wildlife action right on your doorstep – from the turtles that frequent the beach right in front of the cabins to the lively sea lion colony beyond.
What's more, we're delighted to inform you that the team who operates Floreana Lava Lodge were named as the Winner of the Award for Engaging Communities in the prestigious National Geographic World Legacy Awards announced in March 2015.
