Two compact, identical craft, MVs Eric & Letty offer comfortable cruising at an affordable cost. With a maximum of just 20 passengers, attended by nine crew and two knowledgeable naturalist guides, there's an intimate and convivial atmosphere on board.
The décor is business-like and contemporary, enhanced by liberal use of polished teak. Meals are taken in the indoor dining room on the middle deck (all tables have good outside views), while upstairs there's a spacious sun deck – amongst our favourite of the ships' features. We are also impressed with the operator's commitment to sustainability, for which they have been awarded a Responsible Tourism accolade. In 2008 Eric was upgraded to be the first hybrid vessel sailing in the archipelago with 40 solar panels and two wind turbines generating power.
Snorkelling equipment, kayaks and wet suits are available at no extra charge. The Galápagos National Park entrance fee and the INGALA tourist card are included.
Additional information for families interested in travelling:
The cruises offer comfortable cruising for everyone, including children over 7 years old. But in addition they have specific departures in the school holidays exclusively for families with children, each with a programme of activities dedicated to one of three age ranges: 7-12 years, 12-17 years and 17-21 years. Younger children are entertained with games, parties and special meals, while kids’ size masks, wet suits and flippers let them join in with the fun swimming and snorkelling. The older teenagers and young people’s programmes are more active, with hikes and kayaking. Children from the age of 5 are accepted on these specific family departures. Your family will be sharing these experiences with other families principally from the UK and the USA.
