MC Alya is a small, new (2017), first class motor catamaran offering wildlife cruises in the Galapagos Islands.
Alya is a sleek, purpose built (2017) catamaran designed to offer first class comforts, cuisine and excursions on cruises around the Galápagos Islands. Family owned, she carries a crew and naturalist guide fully committed to delivering a superior experience for her guests, pampered by large rooms furnished with huge wardrobes, a choice of bed size and modern hotel amenities such as hairdryer, safe and USB sockets.
Design is contemporary, plenty of bright natural light permeates the vessel with blond wood and creams offset with cheerful splashed of colour in the décor and artwork. There are just 9 cabins accommodating a maximum of 16 guests, so you are guaranteed a personalised service from your guide and crew and will soon get to know your fellow passengers.
Meals are taken in the stylish restaurant, with a buffet breakfast and lunch complemented by an à la carte dinner. There is plenty of space and shade in which to relax over the three decks, the upper one of which offers sunbeds, a Jacuzzi. Snorkelling gear, wetsuits and kayaks are complimentary.
What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
The Galápagos was so amazing - we were not at all disappointed even though we had looked forward to it so much. Every part of our cruise was special, and we loved the Athala and her itinerary.RJ, Kenilworth
"The Galápagos Islands and the amazing Machu Picchu ruins. A real once in a lifetime experience."MCP Richmond
The most memorable experiences were walking in woodland with wild giant tortoise grazing in clearings, watching wild land iguanas amble through long grasses, peering at eye level into the nests of red footed boobies, watching penguins and sea lions hunting fish whilst snorkelling, and as a finale, watching huge sharks circling in the boat lights during our final evening meal.JW, Newcastle
A holiday in Ecuador/the Galapagos is a once in a life time experience. A four day cruise whilst being an excellent 'overview' is just not long enough. Encourage all your customers to take the longest possible cruise.DW, Lingfield
Most Memorable Moment?: The obvious answer is the whole thing! If I had to choose, I'd say the experience of arriving at the top of the Prince Phillip Steps on Genovesa to be confronted by a sea of roosting and nesting seabirds completely unfazed by our presence. Of course I'd read about it in advance but nothing really prepares you for experiencing it for yourself. Another key moment was going snorkelling for the first time at the age of 70 and immediately having underwater encounters with a sea lion and a green sea turtle. My prescience in investing in a GoPro camera ahead of the trip paid huge dividends in terms of lasting memories.DM, Nottingham
No-one should consider a Galápagos cruise of less then 8 days. We both had a holiday of a lifetime.LF
The wildlife on the islands (obviously the major reason for the trip) was spectacular and wonderful to experience. I’m please to have made the trip and would certainly recommend the Galápagos to anyone with similar interests and sufficient money.PM, Chesterfield
The sealions were brilliant fun and the pups so cute, and so close. All the wildlife was great and seeing it all up close as nothing is afraid of humans, was amazing.KH, Weybridge

The Galapagos Islands are spectacular and we are so glad we had the time to visit. After a busy four days onboard La Pinta it was good to have a days break at Finch Bay. It was certainly a well needed rest for us both.EK, Saltash
