Hacienda Pinsaqui

Our Ratings

Hacienda Pinsaqui

Attractive and historic rural property in a splendid Andean setting, with cosily furnished guestrooms and a simple, folksy charm.

The most attractive Hacienda Pinsaqui enjoys a splendid setting on the rugged flanks of Imbabura volcano, just a 15-minute drive away from Otavalo. Founded in 1790 as a textile mill, in later times it played host to a number of illustrious guests including Simón Bolívar.

Guestrooms are tastefully and cosily furnished with warm blankets, stucco walls and traditional artefacts, and each has its own fireplace. The proprietors have brought back most of the antique furniture from France and Spain.

There's a restaurant serving typically hearty Ecuadorian fare, with wonderful views of the surrounding Andean landscapes. There's also a snug bar with a crackling fire and a quirky display of equestrian regalia.

What our clients say

97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.

"Were given a very large room here with an open fire. Very nice place, and the historic nature of the place didn't seem to mean not so good facilities. Cold at night but they did light the fire (and offered an electric heater) and staff were very welcoming."
