Hamadryade Lodge
Hamadryade Lodge is a peaceful, secluded retreat in the jungles of Ecuador's Oriente.
Buried deep in the fastness of riotous jungle vegetation, Hamadryade Lodge is a smart rustic–chic property where you can really relax and unwind. It’s only 6.5km from the busy river port Misahualli, but the access is via a gravelly, bumpy road which enhances the feeling of remoteness.
The hill-top property accommodates just 16 guests in individual cottages constructed with materials which blend in with the environment: stone, polished wood, tiles and exposed brick. Contemporary-style guest rooms and suites are of different sizes and designs – the largest in a suite over two floors with a spiral staircase while all rooms have floor to ceiling windows and balconies overlooking the rainforest.
There is an open-air restaurant, swimming pool with jungle views, and a bar and lounge with library. Massages are offered, and there’s a self-guided trail. You can also visit the local Quichua community to observe at close quarters how a traditional way of life is lived in this region. River-rafting expeditions can also be arranged.
