Overview & Highlights

Two contrasting regions in one trip: Andean Ecuador, dotted with snow-capped volcanoes, colonial cities and traditional cultures. And a land based stay in the Galápagos: different islands, adventures and wildlife by day and hotels at night.

  • Quito: guided tour
  • Cotopaxi: National Park and Limpiopungo lake
  • Cotopaxi: Saquisili Market
  • Cotopaxi: Quilotoa Crater
  • Otavalo: market and weaving
  • Galápagos Islands: Kayak the Itabaca Channel
  • Galápagos Islands: Giant tortoises of Santa Cruz
  • Galápagos Islands: Tinoteras Islands tour
  • Galápagos Islands: Hike to the Wall of Tears
  • Galápagos Islands: Day of guided walks on Isabela Island

We start our journey in mainland Ecuador in colonial Quito before we set off down the Avenue of the Volcanoes travelling through glorious mountain scenery, with two nights spent in a lodge in the shadow of Cotopaxi mountain.

Having spent time exploring Otavalo, we fly to the Galápagos Islands to spend a few gently active days discovering a selection of the contrasting islands. With time split between Santa Cruz and Isabela island, the famous trusting wildlife is everywhere to be seen, both from afar and way up close.

Holiday Extensions

If there's somewhere you particularly want to go that isn't included in this tour, we can add on an extension to take you there.

Paloma

The Paloma tour provides for a breath-taking combination of dramatic landscapes, local culture and iconic wildlife. I particularly love the opportunities for being active. A land, rather than cruise, based visit to the Galápagos means you can snorkel, hike, kayak or just take your time to soak up the unique and unforgettable atmosphere of the islands.
