Hotel Sevilla

Splendid old hotel with an illustrious past, with fairly simple rooms but an atmospheric lobby area and large outdoor pool.

The splendid old Hotel Sevilla, dating back to 1908, is in one of Havana's most famous buildings. Its Moorish façade and Spanish-style architecture hint at the hotel's glorious heyday when its illustrious guests included movie stars, mafiosos and Graham Greene, author of 'Our Man in Havana'.

The walls of the grand lobby are covered in nostalgic memorabilia and comfy sofas make it a great place to soak up the atmosphere; the adjacent patio bar has regular live music. The guestrooms however do not exude the same character and are fairly simple.

One of the hotel's best attributes is the large outdoor pool area – a luxury in Havana. There is also a modern gym and a sauna. Another bonus is the city panorama that unfurls from the 9th floor restaurant.

What our clients say

97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.

The decaying grandeur of the Hotel Sevilla in Havana was just right.  It is definitely the place to stay and I'm grateful to Konrad for insisting on it.  We were lucky to be on the 7th floor, floors 6-8 being the best, overlooking the pool.  Since the whole hotel has new double-glazing, this meant it was quiet.  The air-conditioning worked almost all the time.  The fixtures and fittings are dated but functioning, including the shower.  The room (a two-room suite actually) was very spacious.  The public areas have a suitable air of faded opulence.  The breakfast buffet is very good. Service is friendly and the pool is a welcome city-centre oasis of calm.
