Melia Cayo Santa Maria
Medium class resort offering a wide range of facilities on a whitesand beach.
The beachfront all-inclusive resort Melia Cayo Santa Maria is on the eponymous island in the Caribbean archipelago of Jardines del Rey.
The emphasis here is on wellness and relaxation, ideal for couples although the resort welcomes families and groups of friends. There are bright, sunny rooms decorated in tropical colours, situated in one and two storey buildings. Suites have separate living room, Jacuzzi and ocean or garden views. All have en suite bathroom and balcony or terrace and can accommodate up to two adults and two children. The guest rooms have a good range of amenities including beach umbrellas, satellite TV and digital safe.
Resort facilities include tennis courts, gym with sauna, spa, water sports centre, and open-air swimming pool with poolside bar. The main restaurant is buffet style, and there is more informal poolside restaurant serving Creole style barbecues and pasta dishes. There are two other smarter restaurants specialising in Japanese and French cuisine.
What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
"Our stay here was on an all-inclusive basis - my first experience of this type of provision. Parts of the resort were showing signs of wear and tear but there was also a very visible refurbishment programme in place. The choice of food and drink was excellent, with the result that my final few days in Cuba rather undermined my determination not to put on weight on holiday."DM,Nottingham
Blissful stay! All the staff were attentive, kind, friendly. The choices of meals were great. We met some Canadians on our first night who had been to this hotel 18 times and having spent 3 days there, I can understand their reason for coming back again and again.EV, Enfield
Really enjoyed this although we wouldn't normally choose to stay in a resort. Good rooms - bit dated/in need of decorating.VR, London
Beautiful location and nice resort. Very empty when we were there, so staff half-hearted about activities - eg. sailing, salsa lessons etc. Buffet good enough but specialist restaurants exceptional poor for vegetarians. Italian one closed entire time we were there.HP, King's lynn
The white sand beach at our hotel was simply gorgeous. The hotel was good with a generous buffet. We ate a Japanese Hibachi meal there which was excellent.LC, Bromsgrove
