Casa Belle Epoque
Casa Belle Epoque is a small, restored Republican era mansion on the banks of the river Magdalena in Honda.
Crouching in the hot and steamy Magdalena valley four hours downhill from Bogotá, Honda was an important river port in the epoch of Spanish colonisation.
The small (10 guest rooms) and friendly mid-range Casa Belle Epoque dates from the later Republican era, the elegance of which is reflected in its décor and furnishings. The hotel has two floors, a further terrace upstairs and a small terrace higher up with loungers from which you can view the river. There is also a lounge area to relax in with rocking chairs, hammocks and a library.
To keep you cool there’s the welcome of a shady garden and pool, tropical plants dotted around the house, and the en guest rooms have air conditioning and ceiling fan. Your hosts are usually on hand with a refreshing fruit juice.
