OUR GUIDE TO the weather in the Bogota

Thanks to its location in the heart of the Andean mountains, Colombia’s sprawling capital stands at a considerable altitude - 2,600 metres closer to the stars, according to the city’s slogan. Bogota enjoys a perpetually mild, spring-like climate, so you can visit its excellent museums, theatres, music venues and rustic cafés at any time of year.

Temperatures tend to hover around 14°C with sunny spells, showers and cloud cover fluctuating throughout the day. Generally you’ll find the most sunshine and least rainfall from December - March and again from Jul - Aug. You may also want to plan around the fascinating and varied cultural events that the city offers: Carnival celebrations in July, International Theatre Festival March - April, and a world renowned Jazz Festival in September.
