Casa Bueras Boutique Hotel
Award-winning boutique hotel balancing an intimate, homely ambience with luxury and exclusivity.
The charming small Casa Bueras Boutique Hotel (formerly Lastarria Boutique Hotel) achieves a balance between feeling homely and at the same time luxurious, offering an intimate and friendly environment in which to base yourself in Santiago. The hotel is very well regarded and has won several awards.
A short walk, underground or taxi ride from the colonial centre, the hotel is close to the arty districts of Lastarria and the Italian-influenced Bella Vista, each crammed with antique shops, art galleries, jewellery stores, museums, bars and restaurants. The parks of Forestal and Santa Lucia are nearby too.
The hotel is in a restored mansion built in 1927, and the décor is a mix of understated modernity and classical elegance. Facilities are surprisingly wide-ranging and contemporary – rooms have iPod docks and flat screen TVs for example; some also have open fires or wrought iron balconies. There's a small spa and gym.
Service is first rate, personalised to the needs of each guest, and the staff are dedicated and eager to please. A full buffet breakfast is served and there is a wine list, but only light meals throughout the day – there is no full restaurant service. However, the hotel's location in one of Santiago's most desirable areas means there's no shortage of good restaurant options nearby.
