Landhaus San Sebastian is a small hotel-guesthouse in the lake district’s pretty countryside a half-hour’s drive from Pucón, this calendar-pretty region’s principal centre for visitors.
Owned by a young German family, the little guest house is built in brick and stone Patagonian style: it’s not cutting-edge contemporary by any means but its homely design and décor epitomise the warm hospitality you can expect in this part of Chile. There are sofas and wood burning stoves to create a cosy atmosphere on chilly evenings while on warm days you can sit outside on the patio. The property has its own little farm with a kitchen garden supplying its ‘slow-food’ restaurant.
Just short trip by road takes you to gemstone blue Lago Caburga, sparkly waterfalls and the atmospheric forests of Huerquehue National Park.
