Juma Amazon Lodge is a lakeside property in a remote part of the Brazilian Amazon.

The Juma Amazon Lodge is a small eco-friendly property designed to be totally integrated into the Amazon jungle. The surrounding rainforest landscape features a network of creeks and channels which flood the adjacent woodland during the high water months, when you can explore by boat. There are some small indigenous communities on the lakeshore.

The lodge itself has a spectacular setting on the shores of a black-water (no mosquitoes) lake in a remote region 100km southeast of Manaus. There are 19 individual polished wood cabins featuring veranda, ceiling fan, hammock and private facilities with solar-heated water. The more accessible forest view cabins are close to the lobby and restaurant while the spectacular stilted lake-view cabins are at treetop height, 15m above the lake, in a secluded area of the property offering total privacy - except for the possible visits of curious monkeys, macaws and toucans.

Facilities include a river pool for swimming, floating deck, bar and jungle museum. Take your pick of guided excursions: meeting of the waters, forest walks, piranha fishing, visits to indigenous villages, bird-watching, boat trips and night time caiman-spotting.

Beautiful lodge - lovely rooms with hammocks to lie in and watch the Amazon rainforest etc. Food was excellent. The activities were good and the guide very knowledgable.
