Charming hotel occupying a colonial building in Salvador's historic centre with high quality accommodation and excellent service.

Casa do Amarelindo is a top choice for visitors to Salvador, embodying all that is most enchanting about colonial-style hotels. Décor is immaculately judged, balancing a sense of history with contemporary comfort and a splash of Brazilian colour.

The French-owned 19th century building is slap bang in the middle of the action in the historic centre known as Pelourinho, with its vibrant jumble of pastel-coloured houses, cobbled streets and lively bars. Once inside, however, you enter a haven of quiet elegance.

There are just ten rooms, each equipped with the full works: air-con, sound-proofed windows, minibar, plasma TV and internet access. Bathrooms come with spacious walk-in showers. Deluxe rooms have views over the bay and truly gigantic beds in which to cocoon yourself after a busy day's exploration.

There is a very good restaurant serving predominantly local cuisine (and perhaps the best passion fruit caipirinhas in Salvador). The excellent breakfast can be served on the main terrace. There is also a bar leading to a pretty little courtyard, gym, and small infinity pool with bay views.

What our clients say

97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.

"Casa de Amarelindo was staffed by enthusiastic young lads keen to practice their English, couldn't do enough for you. Looked nothing from road but large comfortable room and excellent restaurant."
