An agreeable mid-range hotel between Copacabana and Ipanema beaches offers a great family-friendly choice.

Round the corner from the fort at the end of Copacabana beach, is Arpoador, a rocky peninsula with two small beaches and a compact little neighbourhood which connects on to the main drag of Ipanema beach. It has almost a village community feel, mostly pedestrianised and family-friendly with a children's playground and a promenade flecked with palms.

You can easily stroll into Ipanema with its chic boutiques and range of good restaurants from this pleasing mid-range hotel, which is also within walking distance of Copacabana and the lagoon Rodrigo de Freitas with its cycle/walking path, boating opportunities and wildlife. The modern rooms are compact but bright with a fresh and airy feel, The larger suites have beach views and balcony with a hammock. The hotel offers you a beach service including complimentary towels, chairs and sunshades.
