Sagu Mini Resort
Relaxed, secluded and unpretentious boutique beach hotel with just a handful of rooms, set amidst lush grounds overlooking the sea.
Italian-owned, Mediterranean-style retreat, Sagu Mini Resort is a 15-minute walk along a well-marked forest trail from the laid-back little beachfront town of Abraão.
By no means is this the type of resort its name might imply, but a relaxed, secluded and unpretentious 9-room guesthouse overlooking the sea. It has attractive, fully equipped bedrooms, each with wooden floors and a balcony where you can while away lazy moments in a hammock facing the sea. They set you up each day with a good Brazilian breakfast and snacks are available at lunchtime. For your evening meal, you'll need to stroll into the village. The small sandy cove of Praia Biquinho is just a stone's throw away and the long, sandy Abrozinhos beach is within a few minutes' walk.
The hotel has lush grounds climbing up the hillside behind the buildings, where you can wander in tropical woodland. After exploring, relax in the hotel’s Japanese-style wooden hot tub or have a massage. The resort can organise all sorts of excursions and activities, including walks, sailing, scuba diving, boat trips and kayaking.

The Iguazu falls were amazing. Brazilia was also a real experience and is undersold - it is a really singular place to visit - the parliament and other buildings are free to visit if you time it right. Rio was Rio and not to be missed all the highlights are highlights and will never forget visiting Christ the Redemptor on a steaming hot day. Christmas on Copacabana should be experienced by everyone - forget the turkey in the cold- this is how to live!AB, Reading

Our trip was most enjoyable particularly because of the wide variety of locations and experiences. Difficult to pick out the most memorable - but the Anavilhanas l Lodge was quite outstanding.PA, Bourne End
Expert help in tailoring a holiday that took in the nature of the country (the Amazon), the cities (Manaus, Rio and Salvador) and the idyllic beaches of Bahia - all in a not overly rushed two weeks.DA, West Norwood
Wow, so many it's hard to choose the most memorable aspect. Sunrise on the lake in the Pantanal was just wonderful. The exhilaration of standing at the devil's throat on the Argentinian side of Iguacu falls. Having the Brazilian Iguacu trail all to ourselves at sunset, when the park was closed but we could still stroll out of our hotel and soak up the view. Seeing wild toucans at Iguacu. Having a family of capybaras living outside our hut in the Pantanal and seeing wild macaws and howler monkeys. We had a great time on the plane from Salvador to Morro de Sao Paulo - tiny but brilliant views and very exciting. We also loved our boat trip around the islands and beaches near Paraty. We took a small sailing boat which made it extremely peaceful. The boat trip at Iguacu was also fantastic but be warned you do get completely soaked. Having a hot tub in our living room at Vila dos Orixas!TH, Arsenal
Most memorable experience: "There are too many! looking down from Christ the Redeemer at sun set in Rio, using the local buses to get about town, sitting at an outdoor cafe on Ilha Grande and swimming in the natural pool outside of Paraty."ZB, London
Rio - the ultimate party city. The Pantanal - fascinating wildlife. Iguacu - Wow ! And the Andes - Incredible. We ran out of superlatives to describe what we were seeing.PM, Stamford Brook
Most memorable experience: "The contrast between city, wildlife and the beach."JB, Leicester
Most memorable experience: "Hard to say it was all wonderful. Looking for alligators in a minute boat in the dark with eyes peering at you from out of the reeds, took a bit of beating. Also the boat whizzing around under the falls was very special. The guides did a great job and it was great not being in a large group. I can't speak highly enough of the whole trip."VM, Shoreham-by-Sea
The whole trip was memorable because it was one fantastic adventure in four parts . We absolutely loved the stays in the Amazon & the Pantanal and felt exhilarated from the visits. We saw & experienced great things and have so many lovely memories.GHS, Iver
Where to start? The World Cup match in Salvador, the old town of Salvador itself, swimming with wild dolphins in Praia de Pipa, watching monkeys play at breakfast, piranha fishing then feeding caimans in the Pantanal, playing football on Copacabana beach, seeing Christ the Redeemer for the first time, dancing in Rio Sanarium, all the Brazilian people we met who were so friendly. The best holiday we have ever been on.LM, London
Highlight: The wildlife at Mutum - tapir, caimans, anteater, capybara, massive range of birdlifeDL, London
