Brazil has an exotic variety of wild life thriving in spectacular natural settings. This journey takes you to a selection of these remarkable places.
The trip begins in Rio de Janeiro, an imposing city clinging to forested mountains and the shoreline of the Atlantic Ocean. From here, head to Paraty, a colonial waterfront town with sun-kissed tropical islands just a short boat ride away. Head west to view the roaring waters of the Iguazú Falls, where a foaming torrent pours over 275 separate cataracts and walkways lead you through subtropical forest to stunning view points.
Next stop is the Pantanal wetlands, Latin America's wilderness safari park, and a wonderful place to observe thousands of aquatic, forest and grassland birds as well as a host of exotic mammals, before you head back to Rio for one last caipirinha cocktail and a stroll along Copacabana beach.

What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
An excellent choice of nature highlights in a great country, guided by a tour leader who understands both worlds and can provide unique insights. I drew energy and inspiration from this experience by visiting so many and diverse sights yet I had a very good rest - the perfect holiday. The standard of accommodation in Brazil was a bit of a disappointment for me; it looks Brazil offers in general lower standards for the same price by comparison to Europe. I think Journey Latin America have done a great job at finding a good compromise between price and quality for us.
Most memorable experience? - Impossible to rank them, I loved every day.Eu, Switzerland
Most memorable experience? - Iguacu Falls were amazing. Boat trip under the falls and helicopter ride from the Brazilian side were truly memorable.
I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday to Brazil with JLA and was impressed with their organisation and local knowledge. Our tour guide, was excellent and went that 'extra mile' to make our holiday an enjoyable experience. During the Trogon itinerary I saw some amazing places not least, Rio de Janeiro, The Pantanal and Iguacu Falls. My private extension to Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais was also well organised and the local guides (both women) used for the private transfers looked after me very well. As a woman travelling alone it was good to know that my safety and security was a high priority.HP, Richmond
There are several experiences we enjoyed on this trip. The lguacu Falls are amazing, couldn't stop taking photos. In the Pantanal the variety of birds was superb and we were lucky enough to see an ocelot. We greatly enjoyed our holiday, we were a small group of two couples so were pleased that the trip still went ahead with these low numbers.JT, Hemel Hampstead
Trogon is an excellent holiday taking you from the bustle of Rio to the relative quietness of Paraty. Then on to the magnificent Iguasu Falls, before the thrill of the wild animals of the Pantanal and fishing for piranha.JDC, Sheffield
This was my third holiday with Journey Latin America, and once again all aspects of the service that I received was very good. Etienne was a great tour leader, and it was a pleasure to be in his company. I would not hesitate to recommend Journey Latin America to anyone, wishing to visit South America.PH, Basildon
An excellent holiday which met our wish to revisit some parts of Brazil and explore new areas; Pantanal was a real discovery and better for seeing wildlife than Manaus.PMR, Blandford Forum
This tour is an excellent introduction to Brazil and will appeal to anyone with an interest in wildlife and landscapes. In the Pantanal, there are excellent chances to get quite close to many birds, mammals and reptiles. But having an armadillo sit on my foot at dinner was quite a surprise.KM, Basingstoke
Our Trogon tour is the perfect holiday for first time visitors to Brazil. You get a real taste of the country's nature from the crystal blue waters of Paraty to the thundering Iguazu Falls. The real highlight for me is the Pantanal wetlands, where the wildlife is easily spotted and the landscape is dramatic whether it's the wet or dry season.
