Overnight in a deluxe vintage-style Airstream camper - in the middle of the Salar under the stars. Enjoy waking up to the otherworldly landscape of the salt flats bathed in a pink gold at sunrise.

It’s already a real adventure to explore the other-worldly Andean salt flats of Uyuni in southern Bolivia. The yawning, glittering white flats have a silent, haunting atmosphere, almost like something out of science fiction. So what better than to base yourself in an airstream camper, resembling a space capsule but with retro design features which hark back to the 1930s.

But this is not old-style caravan camping: the deluxe campers are equipped with comfortable beds, private bathroom with hot water, air-conditioning and heating. You won’t want for modern techo amenities either, there’s a CD player, IPod socket, and even a fully stocked minibar.

While on the move, you and your guide – who organises your excursions en route - travel in a 4WD vehicle which tows the camper.  The icing on the cake is that your meals are prepared and served by an experienced cook, and you can survey the sunset with a cocktail in your hand.
