OUR GUIDE TO the weather in the Sucre and Potosi
The elegant, red-tile-roofed colonial city of Sucre and historical mining city of Potosí are perched high up in the chilly altiplano, at 2,800m and 4,090m respectively. There are any number of enticing cultural events taking place throughout the year, from the dancing processions of the Mining Carnival in Potosí to the exciting car rally in Sucre. Both cities see plenty of sunshine, with the most rainfall from December - March and the driest months in May - Aug. Temperatures in Sucre hover around the mid-teens, while Potosí can be chillier due to its higher altitude.
