Well-established and popular colonial hotel, offering excellent value and no shortage of charm – one of our all-time favourite budget options.
The Hotel Rosario is a popular and well-established colonial hotel near La Paz's indigenous markets, sights and restaurants. It’s a clean, quiet, well-decorated guesthouse with a pleasant jumble of flowery courtyards, always buzzing and lively with guests.
The small and neat guestrooms are cheerily decorated with bright textiles and furnishings. There are two restaurants and a more informal café, and the top floor has been converted into an internet café which also serves snacks and Mexican dishes. There’s also a well-respected travel agency on the ground floor, which can arrange any off-the-cuff tour or day trip you’d like to make.
What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
"We arrived late after a delayed transfer to La Paz, and so only rooms at the front of the hotel were available, which were rather noisy. However, on request we were able to move to quieter rooms at the back for our next two nights. Very good restaurant for breakfast and dinner."JS,Worcester

"Probably my favourite hotel from them all. The room decorations were fabulous, the bed comfortable, a good sized bath in bathroom. The breakfast was also much better than most places."FR, Perth
Very helpful staff on reception - and in restaurant. Good breakfast.PP, Halesworth
Staff were very helpful
"Staff helpful, good breakfasts at any time – this was really useful – dinner also very good."JH, Marlow
"I stayed there back in 2009 for the Jacana tour and it's even nicer than it was!”AB, Chesterfield
Bit of a wait in the restaurant. Otherwise excellent. Lovely decor and situation.GN, Kingsbridge
"Fantastic! A haven of peace in the most interesting city we visited. Really welcoming staff, amongst the best we dealt with."CC, Carnforth
“Hotel Rosario - functional. No lift though and we were on the very top floor which made it a chore to go to and from the room - especially as we suffered from the high altitude, so this bit was not enjoyable. Food was good. I liked that there were some plants in the corridors - (lack of trees and greenery generally in La Paz, so having these in the corridors/courtyard, made it seem 'refreshing' like a little oasis.”TSS, London Bridge
