The Midas Resort is a cheerful, family-run property with a sunny atmosphere on the fringes of the town of San Ignacio, within the richly wooded interior of western Belize. The town and hotel are on the banks of the River Macal, surrounded by palms, banana plants and other tropical vegetation. This lush natural environment is a habitat for iguanas, squirrels, toucans and hummingbirds, all of which you can spot on the property.
Choose between one of the deluxe rooms in the main house, a cottage or self-contained cabin: these have cool tiled floors and simple furnishings in bold colours. There's a restaurant, a large swimming pool and peaceful leafy gardens.
If you want to explore further afield the friendly staff will help you organise a trip: exploring the river, visiting the forests and waterfalls of nearby Mountain Pine Ridge or discovering Mayan archaeological sites at Xunantunich and Caracol among others.
