Buried in a dense forest bristling with wildlife, the relaxing thatched wooden cabins of Gaia Riverlodge are complemented by eco-friendly adventures and activities in a peaceful setting.
Gaia Riverlodge is situated in the heart of the beautiful Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, overlooking the Five Sisters waterfalls.
The private cabins have traditional bay-leaf thatched roofs and richly varnished mahogany interiors. The lodge offers unrivalled views over and direct access to the surrounding forest via a stairway from the lodge, but if you prefer to conserve energy you can take a hydro-powered tram.
You can swim in the river's clear waters or relax in the sun on the lodge's 'river island retreat'. There's an abundance of wildlife including several species unique to the habitat such as the acorn woodpecker, and a gorgeous display of orchids and other exotic plants.
You can take your pick from zip-lining, cave exploration, horse riding and canoeing; or take a day trip to visit the nearby Xunantunich ruins. After your day in the forest relax with a cocktail and watch the sunset from the lodge's huge veranda, then enjoy a lamp-lit dinner of local Belizean and international dishes created from locally sourced foods.
