Arakur Ushuaia Resort and Spa
A smart hotel complex in a nature reserve on a mountainside above Ushuaia offers spectacular views over the Beagle Channel.
The Arakur Ushuaia Resort and Spa is the ultimate top-end place to stay if real enjoyment of your accommodation is to be a big part of your experience in Ushuaia. The hotel is situated on the slopes of the mountain Arakur, facing the hand of ice-spiked peaks which soar above the port: from its lofty elevation there are astonishing views not only of the Andean chain but also the busy little port and the rocky shores of the Beagle Channel.
The hotel sits in the Arakur Nature Reserve and there are walking trails within for you to explore. In the building itself, an ultra-contemporary affair featuring glossy Patagonian wood, there’s also plenty of opportunity both to relax and to get some exercise: a fitness centre, heated pool, children's pool and hot tubs both indoors and also on decking in the open air.
You can dine at the smart, sophisticated restaurant surveying the vistas through floor to ceiling windows. The property’s isolated location is handy for the ski slopes in winter, but you'll be using the shuttle bus or taxis to get around to and from the city and airport.

The trip was divided into a series of mini holidays and each was memorable in its own way. Obviously the Iguazu Falls were spectacular but we derived much pleasure from every experience we had.MK, Southampton
What a fantastic country with genuinely friendly, happy people; it was a delight to meet so many. Although we realise we haven't seen all that the country has to offer, we felt we did get a real impression of Argentina and loved it.ML, Cheltenham
Excellent trip during which we felt we saw some of the real Argentina. Delightful and helpful people abounded who had an enviable pride in their country. Excellent service from JLA (particularly Lina) and local representatives in Argentina added to our enjoyment.ML, Cheltenham
Highlight?: Wildlife! Buenos Aires! Travelling Club! being at the end of the world, border crossing in and out of Chile - good fun.....MK, Orkney
Highlights:- Hard to choose one: all the trips in Iguazu and Patagonia were spectacular, as was the impromptu tango in a bar in Puerto Iguazu and the guitarist in the market in San TelmoBV
The estancia stay was wonderful, and a really special place to spend my 30th birthday - I was thoroughly spoilt! Our trip to Quebrada de Humahuaca with Juan was also fantastic. It was also great to see the diversity of the country, and the beautiful Iguazu falls.JK, North Shields

The trips from Hotel Puerto Valle into the Ibera wetlands were amazing and wonderful. We also had a memorable time in Purmamarca, thoroughly enjoyed the self drive route and of course the amazing Iguazu falls.VW, Bakewell
It was all highlights but Iguassu falls from Argentina and Brazil were really amazing. We were fortunate to be there when the water volume and power of the falls were especially high (which outweighed the occasional heavy rain by far).MW, Oldham
Highlight?: Cerro Otto, fabulous weather and the guide was just so relaxed and we had all the time in the world. It was a fabulous dayBD, Oswestry
The whole trip was memorable! The excursion to Estancia Cristina was amazing, trekking Laguna Torre and Laguna de los Tres were awesome too. And nothing beats being able to see and hear the Perito Moreno Glacier calve!LB, London
We loved all of it, we really enjoyed the scenery of Humahuaca Gorge and the drive to Cafayate. Iguazu falls are incredible also and a definite highlight....We found our whole holiday experience excellent. It was nice to be able to see so much in 2 weeks whilst still feeling relaxed as we were looked after so well by all our guides. The personal itinerary and help we received made a huge difference to us and we were impressed by the standard of all our hotels. The only problem was that we wished we had longer so we could of seen more.HB, Abingdon
Argentina is a big place - we did a lot of travelling in a short time - our constraints ; 3 weeks would do it more justice ; the people were great + the trips you organized worked really well - it was overall a great trip.KS, Brighton
Highlight: Bariloche, panoramic view was unforgettable. I have never seen such a wonderful sight on any of our many holidays.PJ, London
It seems almost invidious to single out one part of the trip given the high quality overall but it has to be Puerto Valle. Our expectations were very high given our experience thus far but those expectations were exceeded. We cannot commend them highly enough.CB, Leeds
Highlights:The visit to the milonga for my husband and the Iguazu Falls for meLS, Dorchester
The weather was very kind to us and every glacier, view and the falls were stunningly beautiful. I loved being in the hotel at Bariloche sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake. I even thoroughly enjoyed travelling through the Enchanted Valley from Nequen to Bariloche because the airport had been closed. It is impossible for us to put one memorable moment as every part of Argentina that we went to was beautiful.LL, Bexley
Seeing the iguazu falls was unforgettable. The hotel was beautiful with a fantastic position.LD, London
Most Memorable Moment?: Iguazu Falls just because it was so spectacular to see.CH, Hull
