Estancia El Ombu de Areco

It set in luxuriant parkland and has been adapted to receive paying guests. There are nine simple, atmospheric rooms each with a jumble of period furniture.
There are two unheated swimming pools, pleasant to use in the summer months. Activities available include horse riding within the estancia, carriage drives, nature walks. You'll also be treated to a delicious Asado, a feast of a BBQ.
What our clients say

Each day gave us stunning scenery, amazing sights and the friendliness of the Argentinian people. Although one particular highlight was seeing an armadillo on the road from El Calafate..YGG, Wirral
Highlight?: Too many but Iguazu stands out!JB, Mansfield
Trekking on the Perito Moreno Glacier, seeing Condors in the Andes, crossing the Andes by boat and bus, the whole visit to Ushuaia. This was probably the most varied and exciting trip we have done in recent years, which worked almost perfectly logistically and in terms of time spent in each location.PN, Guildford

Most Memorable Moment?: Sitting by the shore of Laguna de los Tres at the base of Mount Fitz Roy in El Chaltén ... or sitting in a wood-fired hot-tub on the first day of our honey-moon, overwrought, slightly jet lagged and very happily married!RB, London
Excellent trip during which we felt we saw some of the real Argentina. Delightful and helpful people abounded who had an enviable pride in their country. Excellent service from JLA (particularly Lina) and local representatives in Argentina added to our enjoyment.ML, Cheltenham

Everything met with our expectations (and beyond) but If there was a real highlight it was probably the visit to Estancia ChristinaRJ, Arundel
Most Memorable Moment?: Impossible to say, as each element was so different from the rest. La Bamba certainly will leave an enduring memory. Just the way to chill out after a fairly busy itinerary.AD, London

We both thought that the experience and power of the Iguazu Falls when we were alone in the grounds on our own (early in the morning before the crowds arrived) was an experience of a lifetime. We've never seen an almost circular rainbow caused by the river's spray before.AP, London
Highlight: Andean crossing to BarilocheHL, Rickmansworth
The weather was very kind to us and every glacier, view and the falls were stunningly beautiful. I loved being in the hotel at Bariloche sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake. I even thoroughly enjoyed travelling through the Enchanted Valley from Nequen to Bariloche because the airport had been closed. It is impossible for us to put one memorable moment as every part of Argentina that we went to was beautiful.LL, Bexley
Perito Moreno was great again but I think the highlight was probably hiking in El Chalten area which was beautiful.PC, London
Most Memorable Moment: Perito Moreno glacier.SU, London
We had a marvellous time, the welcome's we got at each airport was fantastic and everyone was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The people of Argentina are warm and friendly we felt relaxed and would recommend a visit there to anyoneMC
Bariloche area and the Lake crossingHS, Grays
Difficult to identify (the highlights of my self drive holiday)... I would highlight the interest of the looping drive down the mountains to the west....watching the leaves of the roadside foliage increase in size as the temperature rose was mesmerising. I would suggest that the pleasure of long drives through changing countryside is one of the unsung pleasures of such holidays as mine. But perhaps that's just lazy old me!RS, Salisbury
