Just a short drive from the Salta airport and within half-an-hour of the city, this charming rural hotel is ideally suited to those with a car seeking a quiet base from which to explore Salta's attractions. Finca Valentina is built in traditional regional Salteña style, with dazzling whitewash walls and colonnades, high ceilings, and splashes of local colour lent by local textiles, handicrafts and flowers. With just 8 rooms, a pool, sundeck and tasty home-cooked meals on offer each evening, it’s easy to get settled in here if you fancy a day at leisure. Beyond are the foothills of the Andes, calling for exploration of this fascinating corner of Argentina.

Perito Moreno was great again but I think the highlight was probably hiking in El Chalten area which was beautiful.PC, London
I have wanted to visit Argentina for years. Journey Latin America helped by interpreting our desires and pulled together an excellent itinerary. Our journey will be one of the most memorable trips we have ever been on. Each accommodation was different, giving us a taste for the area, culture and the people were so friendly. What an amazing countryLT, Wimborne
Excellent trip during which we felt we saw some of the real Argentina. Delightful and helpful people abounded who had an enviable pride in their country. Excellent service from JLA (particularly Lina) and local representatives in Argentina added to our enjoyment.ML, Cheltenham
What a fantastic country with genuinely friendly, happy people; it was a delight to meet so many. Although we realise we haven't seen all that the country has to offer, we felt we did get a real impression of Argentina and loved it.ML, Cheltenham
Most Memorable Moment: Iguazu falls were amazing - much better than exepctedDM, London
Seeing the iguazu falls was unforgettable. The hotel was beautiful with a fantastic position.LD, London
We had an excellent holiday in Argentina and are very grateful to Sophie for organising it for us so well.JR, Acton
Difficult to identify (the highlights of my self drive holiday)... I would highlight the interest of the looping drive down the mountains to the west....watching the leaves of the roadside foliage increase in size as the temperature rose was mesmerising. I would suggest that the pleasure of long drives through changing countryside is one of the unsung pleasures of such holidays as mine. But perhaps that's just lazy old me!RS, Salisbury
Highlight: Andean crossing to BarilocheHL, Rickmansworth

Highlight: Journey on the PunaMK, London
We loved all of it, we really enjoyed the scenery of Humahuaca Gorge and the drive to Cafayate. Iguazu falls are incredible also and a definite highlight....We found our whole holiday experience excellent. It was nice to be able to see so much in 2 weeks whilst still feeling relaxed as we were looked after so well by all our guides. The personal itinerary and help we received made a huge difference to us and we were impressed by the standard of all our hotels. The only problem was that we wished we had longer so we could of seen more.HB, Abingdon
Most memorable experiences: "Perito Moreno glacier - my photos don't come near to conveying its magnificence! Bus over the Andes. More comfortable than a flight and the mountains are truly awesome (was a long day, however,at around 8hrs 30mins.)"AW, Leeds
A succession of world class excursions throughout the two weeks.JS, Newbury
Argentina is a big place - we did a lot of travelling in a short time - our constraints ; 3 weeks would do it more justice ; the people were great + the trips you organized worked really well - it was overall a great trip.KS, Brighton
The whole trip was memorable! The excursion to Estancia Cristina was amazing, trekking Laguna Torre and Laguna de los Tres were awesome too. And nothing beats being able to see and hear the Perito Moreno Glacier calve!LB, London
Highlights: So many...the Perito Moreno glacier, meeting friendly Argentinians, riding with the Gauchos , the stunning scenery of Bariloche.DB, London
It was all highlights but Iguassu falls from Argentina and Brazil were really amazing. We were fortunate to be there when the water volume and power of the falls were especially high (which outweighed the occasional heavy rain by far).MW, Oldham
Most Memorable Moment?: Iguazu Falls just because it was so spectacular to see.CH, Hull
Highlights:The visit to the milonga for my husband and the Iguazu Falls for meLS, Dorchester
We have had a great holiday in Argentina, partly organised by JLA and would certainly recommend JLA to anyone that wants to have such a trip, as they provided very good knowledge of the areas we visited and good organisation.LS, Zurich
Most Memorable Moment?: Iguazu falls - the whole trip was incredible! Seeing the falls by full moon was one of the most amazing things i have ever seen!JW, Aylesbury
Highlights?: The guides Laura, Rami and Roberto were tremendous. Highlights among many definitely include the Salta Trip to the Clouds Day, the Iguazu Falls (esp the Argentine side)and the Bariloche hiking days.JD, London
We had a marvellous time, the welcome's we got at each airport was fantastic and everyone was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. The people of Argentina are warm and friendly we felt relaxed and would recommend a visit there to anyoneMC
Not easy to pick out a highlight. It was a very varied trip as we had requested. The natural scenery around Salta, Iguazu, the Lakes and all over Patagonia was amazing, helped by some very favourable weather. The top hotels - Patagonia Camp, Patios de Cafayate, Arakur were great; some of the lesser hotels surpassed their descriptions - Molinos, la Yegua Loca, Anslemo;...The Andean Crossing was fabulous: fantastic scenery which we saw in perfect conditions, with very easy transfers and helpful guides.CB, Winchester
