Friendly hotel Balcon de la Plaza occupies a restored Spanish colonial residence in central Salta.

There are many converted, refurbished mansions in the colonial heart of Salta and Balcón de la Plaza is one of the most charming, offering a genuine personalised experience. It also has the advantage of being just half a block from the city's pleasing main square, its baroque cathedral, shops, banks and restaurants. The staff are consistently highly rated for their welcome and helpfulness (in our view, Salta is justifiably renowned for its friendly population).

The hotel décor maintains the atmosphere of the building's history, with tiled and wooden floors, cast iron furniture, a small fountain and antique knick-knacks. Some of the handful of guest rooms have beamed ceilings and terracotta tiled floors. The hotel offers Wifi, parking and a laundry. A breakfast buffet is served but there is no restaurant (although there are plenty of options nearby).

What our clients say

97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.

excellent location to explore city very difficult to find in complex one way system that you are not used to when driving on wrong side of the road! free toiletries hot shower one day, only luke warm the next day very noisy AC breakfast was limited and mean - i.e. either fruit juice or fruit - why not both, both are cheap enough!!
