Large modern hotel in a peaceful natural setting overlooking Lago Argentino, with a low-key, distinctively Patagonian elegance.

The Alto Calafate Hotel is a large, modern hotel with a distinctively Patagonian appearance, situated on a peaceful hilltop on the outskirts of El Calafate. Its style could be described as low-key elegance, featuring simple, high quality furnishings and earthy colours that harmonise with, rather than overpower, the subtle shades of the wilderness skies and landscapes outside.

The chalet-style building has around 100 spacious and well-equipped guestrooms, each decorated in neutral shades. Many have magnificent lake views. There is also a bar, restaurant, and a spa complete with a heated pool from which you can gaze through floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows across the steppe and Lago Argentino to the mountains beyond.

What our clients say

97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.

"The hotel needs an outdoor area to sit in - it was very sunny while we were there. Pool and poolside area were very overheated. Restaurant a bit pricey."
