Sofitel Buenos Aires Recoleta
Formerly named the Brick Hotel, this is a first class property in the fashionable Recoleta district, with excellent facilities, classically designed rooms and numerous elegant lobbies and foyers.
The Sofitel Buenos Aires Recoleta (formerly named the Brick Hotel) is a first class hotel in a modern tower with a striking brick façade, set in the fashionable Recoleta district with its leafy squares, fine restaurants and boutiques. Like the elegant European-influenced neighbourhood itself, the hotel displays elements of French art and design: on the ground floor there is a gallery displaying works by local artists, such as the imposing sculpture by Gerardo Wolgemuth, which takes centre stage in the lobby.
On entering the hotel you are met by an elegant lobby with sparkling marble floors and high ceilings, leading to an open galleried second floor framed by two marble-clad columns. In common with many hotels in Argentina the public areas are more ornate than the guestrooms, which are designed in classic style but with very high quality furnishings.
Rooms are set around numerous small foyers, which add a certain intimacy, albeit that of a grand stately home. The smart restaurant with its adjoining bar and lounge serves a light lunch and a more formal dinner. Other facilities include a subterranean gym beneath the hotel gardens together with a swimming pool, gym and sauna.
