Las Balsas Relais & Chateaux
Las Balsas is a luxury Patagonian-style hotel with one of the most picturesque waterside settings in the Argentine lake district.
This striking luxury lodge, constructed in local wood with slate roofs and huge windows, sits close to Villa la Angostura in the heart of the Argentine lake district. The grounds stretch over the lower slopes of a clutch of forested hills, and down to the northern shores of the lake Nahuel Huapi.
The 15 guest rooms are individually designed and most have attractive lake views. There is a bar and restaurant overlooking the lake offering enticing dishes prepared using locally sourced ingredients such as freshwater fish and vegetables from the hotel garden.
In addition to soaking up the views of the rugged mountain scenery, you can relax in the sumptuous spa with its outdoor heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and massage room. You’ll be torn - tempted to stay on the property to enjoy its splendid facilities but also drawn to the surrounding countryside where you can go hiking and biking through the trails of the Nahuel Huapi National Park.
Other options include sports fishing (Nov-Apr) and a variety of water sports such as kayaking, canoeing, sailing, windsurfing and rafting on the cobalt waters of the lake and rivers which feed it. Indeed, the hotel has its own private beach, pier and dock. It comes as no surprise that this gorgeous property is listed in the prestigious Relais & Chateaux portfolio.
What our clients say
97% of our clients rated their experience with us as Excellent or Good.
The grounds of the hotel, the gardens, pool, and the rooms were beautifully kept. Service at this hotel was not as good as others. Young staff in the dining room seemed to be unsupervised and struggled when large groups were present.SW Telford
