Long-standing popular cruise vessel, given a top-to-toe refurbishment in 2017, offers guests contemporary comfort in gleaming new surroundings.

This popular ice-strengthened expedition cruise ship, purpose built in 1976, underwent a comprehensive refurbishment in 2017, including the installation of eco-friendly new engines.  Her fresh new contemporary look has been carried through from the public areas to the cabins and suites each of which has an exterior view, lower berths and shiny new private bathroom. She now carries 132 guests.

There’s an updated, smart but informal (no reserved seating) dining room serving chef-prepared meals, a remodelled bar and well stocked polar library. With lots of space for absorbing mesmeric Antarctic vistas, the front deck is particularly good for photography. Adventure activities are available including sea kayaking, hiking and snowshoeing on selected departures.

This US-operated ship offers excellent value for money.
