Ocean Endeavour is a relatively large (for Antarctica) expedition ship (199 guests and 124 crew) engineered to explore the polar environment. Comfort is the watchword and you should have as smooth a possible a crossing over turbulent waters. The ship has an ice-strengthened hull, Zodiacs for exploration and remote landings, extensive deck space and sun deck for observation and advanced navigation equipment. Recently refurbished, she has a choice of 13 cabin categories from cosy singles (offering especially good value to solo travellers) to spacious suites.
She offers classic routes with a range of active options, as well as photography classes and a scientist-in-residence programme. There’s a lecture theatre and well stocked Polar library. The ship also has a shop where you can buy gifts as well as gear you may need for the voyage. Ocean Endeavour also stands out for her wellness focus, with sauna, gym, spa menu and complimentary yoga classes. Food-wise, there’s a choice too: a wellness café and two restaurants. Optional kayaking, camping and stand-up paddling can be pre-booked for selected departures.
