Danpaati River Lodge
Danpaati River Lodge is a delightful property with wooden cabins set on the shores of a remote island on the Amazonian Suriname river.
Danpaati River Lodge is set in an exceptionally remote and tranquil spot on an island in the Suriname river, fringed by Amazonian rainforest. Located close to the Maroon village of Dan, famed for its unique culture where African traditions and rituals have been preserved, the lodge is deeply integrated into the local community, and coordinates projects with 12 villages in the vicinity, including a media centre for children. The lodge welcomes visitors offering accommodation for couples, families and groups in a variety of spacious A-frame wooden cabins on the waterfront, with amenities including mosquito nets, fresh coffee served in the mornings and unbeatable views from hammocks set on the verandah. There’s a breezy lounge facing the river and a large outdoor pool surrounded by a hardwood yoga deck, with access to one of the few areas of the Suriname river where it is safe to swim.

Lovely day. We will remember the setting where we had lunch for a long time. A beautiful place with excellent food. Our guide, Bernado, was very goodSB, Solihull
Another unforgettable experience right up with the Salta Road to The Clouds' day as a highlight.JD, London
We were impressed by everything we saw, however the visit to Machu Picchu and the islands on Lake Titicaca were the most memorable The former is an iconic site and the guide, Freddie was excellent. The islands on the lake were fascinating the local people were very welcoming and our guide Willi was brilliant.LS, Ruislip
Wonder of the world!
Iguazu Falls - truly one of the Wonders of the World.IE, Ross-on-Wye
It seems almost invidious to single out one part of the trip given the high quality overall but it has to be Puerto Valle. Our expectations were very high given our experience thus far but those expectations were exceeded. We cannot commend them highly enough.CB, Leeds
The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff friendly. I liked the layout of the hotel, the rooms around a courtyard and pool. It's location was central and there were plenty of shops and places to eat nearby.TF, Wakefield
Well-placed in the Sacred Valley, a beautiful place to stay: for its owners an ecological and artistic project, in a compound with gardens, lodges, restaurants and other amenities. A place to take time and enjoy! Staff 'went the extra mile'.BC, London
Good location and stylish. Room a little small as it had an extra bed that we didn't need.MA, Lancaster
The scenery was stunning, especially at Vinales and Soroa, and we found the people warm and friendly.AH, Shrewsbury

An amazing place doing a great thing for nature and EcuadorCS, Telford
"Excellent location for the train station but a bit far from the main square in town. Staff were not very friendly but a clean and tidy hotel regardless."ES, London
Peru exceeded expectations, especially Lake Titicaca.JL, Totteridge
The Hacienda Chichen Resort is perfectly situated by Chichen-Itza with beautiful rooms and gardens. The food is excellent, but definitely priced higher than most restaurants in the area. A walk around the grounds was delightful and the manager went out of his way to recommend additional tours we could go on (both the early morning walk to Chichen-Itza and the bird walk were great!)AA, Newport
"A good location for accessing the city."KL,Stratford-upon-avon

"We eventually ended up in La Boca, which was a fantastic district."VK, Norwich
A very relaxing atmosphere, with old-fashioned facilities. We were left to own devices, more than in other hotels visited on trip, but Colonia provided a very welcome restful break.SC Ashford
Carrie was all that was best in a guide. She went out of her way to assist in every way possible and was always prepared to go the extra mile. She was splendid company.RL, Devizes
